Robotics Software Engineer (6month contract)

I'm currently working with a world-leading, employee-owned robotics company that's growing their London-based engineering team. My client is focused on building advanced robotic systems that push the boundaries of dexterity and human-machine interaction.

They’re now looking to bring on a Robotics Software Engineer to work hands-on with their highly advanced dexterous hand products and teleoperation solutions.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a tight-knit, international team solving real-world problems with robotics—right here in London.

💡 About the Role
This is an on-site position, working alongside a group of highly skilled engineers in London. You'll contribute to both the design and development of production software, while also being involved in:

-Manual and automated testing
-Debugging and bug-fixing
-Improving documentation
-Real hardware interaction and testing

You’ll be working on meaningful problems with immediate impact in the robotics field, all while developing clean, robust, and well-tested software.

What My Client Is Looking For
Must-Haves:

-Experience developing software for robots (professionally or through personal projects)
-Strong knowledge of C++ and Python in Linux environments
-Experience using ROS (Robot Operating System)
-Commercial software engineering experience (ideally with a focus on testing/integration)
-A collaborative, solution-oriented mindset

Nice-to-Haves:

-Experience (even informal) in embedded programming
-Knowledge of robotic simulation environments
-A natural learner who thrives in supportive, non-hierarchical teams
